Shall we Dance?

Since I was a little girl I have always loved watching dancing. I can still see me and my Mom in front of the TV watching it in amazement. I love the beautiful gowns, the music, the shoes,the hair and makeup and the lucky girl hugging up to the hot guy!!! Thanks to the movie "Shall we Dance" and the TV show "Dancing with the stars, it is now cool to like to ballroom dance. If only I could convince my husband of that.... But anyway it has brought all of us ballroom dancing lovers out of the closet!!!! So to speak... The above prints is one of my favorites. I think it is very romantic and a cool place to be. I have this print in my bedroom, so at anytime I desire I can look at it and put myself in that room. I can be taken away into dream dance land. We all need a little escape now and then..........

Irish Prayer

Several weeks back, I wrote on one of my favorite Civil War letters. This is one of my favorite prayers and since I do have Irish in my bloodline, I will share this. I do not who wrote this, but it is beautiful!!!

May the Road rise to meet you.
May the wind be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
The rain fall soft upon your fields and until we
meet again.
May God hold you in the palm of his hand............

Missing Mom

Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms!! My Mom died 2 years ago this past February, and I still miss her everyday. I have finally got to the place, where I do not cry everyday, but I do still think about her everyday. Of course, I like that because I always want to think about her. I look in the mirror and I see reflections of her in my face. I can see characteristics of Mom in me and my sisters and brothers. This brings a smile to my face, but it does not bring her back. The Holidays and Mothers day is especially hard for me. I would love to spend this day with my Mom. To see her pretty face again and hug her for real...But I cannot. I know I will see her again one day, but that does not help me today. I know not everyone has a good Mom. But to all those who do, all I can say is to enjoy every moment you can with her. Not just today, but everyday you can. I spent alot of time with my Mom and let her know she was loved. Those memories are now a great treasure to me. Take it from someone who knows, the day will come when all you have left is those memories. So make many memories and be thankful for each day you have.......

My GH Bettas

I have had several Betta fish over the past few years. I love watching them swim around and they have such beautiful colors in them. I name them after General Hospital characters. This is my current fish "Jax". He is much like the Jax on GH, he is a real charmer!!! He swims all the way from the bottom to the top, with much fancy turns and twists to be sure to get your attention. My first fish was "Luke" but to my disappointment he did not live up to his name sake, he died only after a few months. My second fish was "Lucky" and he was quite lucky for a fish, he lived about 7 months. Jax is keeping right up with him, I have had him for 5 months. Only time will tell which GH fish will be the winner!!!!

Pass the Lunesta , please

We had a Preacher today at Church, who spoke on how we as a Church and the nation itself, is just medicating ourself, so we can ignore and not feel all the wrong that is going on around us. How true that is. Just about all the morals and values that my parents taught me, are now being abused everyday. This is true on the smallest scale, as our TV today to the largest scale as the war that America is in now. It starts out simple and before you know it, you are sitting amazed at the madness all around. When we do and say nothing, about the wrongs around us, even the little ones can snowball into a big mess. Lets examine that with TV today. When I was growing up the TV shows were clean and family based. Growing up, we watched TV together as a family. You did not have to be on guard when to cover your children's eyes. We have came a long way from -- Happy days, The Brady Bunch, Little House on the Praire and The Waltons, to name a few. These were good shows, with good role models for men and women. Today the men on most Comedy show are portrayed as stupid and the butt of every joke. The Women are nothing but sex objects. Just about every channel has a reality show, that shows women half naked and acting ditzy to get attention . Are these the role models we want for our children and grandchildren(one day)? Do we want our Sons growing up and looked at, as stupid? Do we want our daughters growing up and looked as only sex objects? I do not think so!!!! I'm just giving you something to chew on. Okay, enough of my rantings, give me my Lunesta and I'll just go to sleep. I'm sure when I wake up it will all be better..
